Section 3769-6-36 - Enclosed starting gate

All starts at thoroughbred meetings shall be made from an enclosed starting gate, and there can be no start until and no recall after the starter has caused the gates to be opened; provided, that in an emergency and with permission of the stewards the start may be made from a starting gate with opened stalls or with a flag or in any other manner that the stewards may prescribe, but no start shall be effected until the starter shall have given the agreed signal for said start and no recall shall be possible after he shall have given the agreed signal.
