a. Hazard categories are as specified in paragraph (A)(2)(b)(5001.2.2) of this rule.
b. Maximum allowable quantities shall be increased 100 per cent in buildings equipped throughout with an automatic sprinkler system in accordance with paragraph (C)(3)(a)(i)(903.3.1.1) of rule 1301:7-7-09 of the Administrative Code. Where note c also applies, the increase for both notes shall be applied accumulatively.
c. Maximum allowable quantities shall be increased 100 per cent where stored in storage cabinets in accordance with paragraph (C)(8)(5003.8) of this rule. Where note b also applies, the increase for both notes shall be applied accumulatively.
d. See Table 5003.8.3.2 of this rule for design and number of control areas.
e. Maximum allowable quantities for other hazardous material categories shall be in accordance with paragraph (C)(1)(5003.1) of this rule.
f. Maximum allowable quantities shall be increased 100 per cent in outdoor control areas.
g. Maximum allowable quantities shall be increased to 2,250 pounds where individual packages are in the original sealed containers from the manufacturer or packager and do not exceed 10 pounds each.
h. Maximum allowable quantities shall be increased to 4,500 pounds where individual packages are in the original sealed containers from the manufacturer or packager and do not exceed 10 pounds each.
i. Quantities are unlimited where protected by an automatic sprinkler system.
j. Quantities are unlimited in an outdoor control area.
Exceptions:
(D) Section 5004 Storage
Exception: Outdoor storage of containers on containment pallets in accordance with paragraph (D)(2)(c)(5004.2.3) of this rule.
Except for surfacing, the floors, sills, dikes, sumps and collection systems shall be constructed of noncombustible material, and the liquid-tight seal shall be compatible with the material stored. Where liquid-tight sills or dikes are provided, they are not required at perimeter openings having an open-grate trench across the opening that connects to an approved collection system.
