Section 75-03-10-10 - Minimum qualifications of child care center director

A director shall:
1. Be an adult of good physical, cognitive, social, and emotional health, and shall use mature judgment when making decisions impacting the quality of child care;
2. Possess knowledge or experience in management and interpersonal relationships;
3. Hold at least one of the following qualifications, in addition to those set out in subsection 1:

Certify annual completion of a minimum of thirteen hours of department-approved training related to child care, including one hour on safe sleep prior to the director providing care to infants and one hour on mandated reporter of suspected child abuse or neglect.. A department-approved basic child care course must be completed within ninety days of employment. The same training courses may be counted toward licensing annual requirements only if at least three years has passed since the last completion date of that training course, with the exception of safe sleep and mandated reporter annual training.
