1. The peace officer standards and training board consists of nine members, including the director of the law enforcement training center, six peace officers, one county government representative, and one city government representative.
2. With the exception of the director of the law enforcement training center, all members of the peace officer standards and training board must be appointed by the attorney general and serve staggered two-year terms.
3. Peace officers appointed by the attorney general may serve no more than three consecutive terms.
4. The attorney general shall appoint the chairman of the board.
5. The office of attorney general shall provide support staff to the board, including an employee to serve as the secretary to the board and as an ex officio nonvoting member of the board.
