(a) The rules in this Section apply to research activity or treatment involving direct contact with a client.
(b) An activity or treatment procedure shall be considered research when it:
(1) involves a clinical practice that is not
conventional; or
(2) is a type of
procedure that serves the purpose of research only, and does not include
treatment designed primarily to benefit the client.
