(a) The provision of outpatient services shall be guided by written policies and procedures which shall be developed by the facility and approved by the medical staff. The policies and procedures shall be reviewed by the medical staff at least every three years.
(b) The policies shall include the following:
(1) patient access to
outpatient services;
(2) the
process of obtaining informed consent;
(3) the location, storage and procurement of
medications, supplies and equipment; and
(4) the mechanism to be used to contact
patients for necessary follow-up.
