(a) Any person, including members of the North Carolina Awards Committee, may submit the name of an individual to the Committee for consideration for receipt of a North Carolina award. Biographical data should accompany the name and be sent to the Department of Cultural Resources.

(b) The Committee, acting as a committee of awards, makes the final selection in the four categories and advises the Secretary of Cultural Resources of its decision.
