Part 177 - Regulations For The Office Of The Ombudsman
Section 177.2 - Composition

The office of the ombudsman shall be composed of a director who shall be an ombudsman and an attorney admitted to practice in the State of New York and ombudsmen who shall also be attorneys admitted to practice in the State of New York. They may be assisted by staff who are knowledgeable in the areas of juvenile justice and youth rights. The ombudsmen shall have direct access to the director of the division. The Director of Ombudsman shall report to the director of the division. The director and the ombudsmen shall be appointed and removed by the director of the division in accordance with applicable Civil Service laws, rules and regulations and negotiated agreements. They shall be State employees.
