Section 5.94 - Executive order no. 94: rescinding executive orders 90.1 and 92.1, which declared disaster emergencies in chautauqua, erie, niagara, jefferson, broome, cayuga, chenango, cortland, lewis, livingston, madison, monroe, oneida, onondaga, oswego, st. lawrence, schuyler, seneca, wayne, wyoming, orleans, tompkins, ontario and stueben counties and contiguous areas

WHEREAS, beginning on January 1, 1999, and continuing, severe snowstorms with high winds came through New York State and disrupted vital public transportation and public safety systems within Chautauqua, Erie, Niagara and Jefferson Counties and contiguous areas; and

WHEREAS, beginning on March 4, 1999, and continuing, severe snowstorms with high winds came through New York State and disrupted vital public transportation and public safety systems within Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Jefferson, Lewis, Livingston, Madison, Monroe, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, St. Lawrence, Schuyler, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, Orleans, Tompkins, Ontario and Steuben Counties and contiguous areas; and

WHEREAS, these events resulted in personal hardship and damage to residential and commercial property as well as a threat to the public health and safety; and

WHEREAS, by Executive Orders 90.1 and 92.1, I declared State Disaster Emergencies in the affected counties, and directed State agencies to respond as necessary to assist those affected counties in restoring vital public transportation systems and to provide such other assistance as necessary to protect the public health and safety; and

WHEREAS, State agencies have responded by assisting the affected counties in restoring vital public transportation systems and by providing other assistance to protect the public health and safety; and

WHEREAS, these events no longer pose an imminent threat to the public health and safety;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE E. PATAKI, Governor of the State of New York, having consulted with the Director of State Operations, do hereby rescind Executive Orders 90.1 and 92.1.
