Section 4.14 - Executive Order No. 14: Declaring a disaster emergency in the County of Oneida and directing State agencies to assist local authorities. [*][DAGGER]
WHEREAS, a continuing assessment by State agencies indicates that the series of tornados and associated severe weather on May 2 and 3, 1983, have caused significant damage and destruction to public and private property in Oneida County and the county requires governmental assistance to repair, restore and protect the damaged property.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mario M. FURTHER, pursuant to section 29 of article 2-B of the New York State Executive Law, I direct the implementation of the State Disaster Preparedness Plan and authorize, effective May 5, 1983, State agencies to take such action as necessary to assist the affected areas in repairing, restoring, and protecting highway transportation systems and to provide necessary emergency assistance in order to protect the public health and safety.
