Section 2410.4 - Accrediting agency responsibilities

(a) An accrediting agency as defined in this Chapter shall comply with all laws and regulations governing the award program. In addition, an accrediting agency shall provide to the corporation:

(1) all applications for renewal of recognition submitted to the department and the departments decision on all such applications;

(2) all notices, information, documentation, and the like provided to the secretary including, but not limited to, the notices and information described in 34 C.F.R. sections 602.26 and 602.27; and

(3) any other information and documentation requested by the corporation.

(b) No award shall be made to an educational institution for which its accrediting agency has failed to comply with the requirements of this Chapter. In addition, the educational institution may be subject to possible sanctions in accordance with Part 2404 of this Title.
