Section 2001.1 - Definitions

As used in this Chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings, unless otherwise specified:

(a) Academic year means the regular school year beginning July 1st and ending June 30th.

(b) Board means the board of trustees of the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation.

(c) College shall mean an institution of higher education recognized and approved by the Regents, which provides a course of study leading to the granting of post-secondary degree or diploma.

(d) Commissioner means the Commissioner of Education.

(e) Corporation means the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation.

(f) President means the president of the corporation.

(g) Regents means Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York.

(h) Vocational institution means a business, trade, technical or other occupational school approved as such by the Regents or accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency or association accepted as such by the Regents.
