Section 175.1 - Attendance periods of school year for state aid purposes

(a) Whenever 10 attendance periods shall be established for the school year:

(1) such periods shall run consecutively and shall end either:
(i) on the last Friday of each calendar month, September through June; or

(ii) after the completion of each 18 days of session except that the tenth period shall end after completion of the last day of session of the school year.

(2) Notwithstanding paragraph (1) of this subdivision, in the city school district of the City of New York such periods shall run consecutively and may, in the discretion of the board of education of that district, end either as defined in paragraph (1) of this subdivision or on the last day of each such calendar month.

(b) Whenever eight attendance periods shall be established for the school year, each such period shall be contained within at least five consecutive calendar weeks.
