Section 168.5 - Nontraditional modes of instruction

(a) For aid payable pursuant to the provisions of subdivision 24 of section 3602 of the Education Law for employment preparation education programs employing nontraditional modes of instruction approved in accordance with the requirements set forth in section 168.3(b) and (c) of this Part, the number of hours of instruction shall be calculated by multiplying the number of teacher hours for such programs by 12. Such hours of instruction shall be eligible for State aid provided that no more than one-half teacher hour per enrollee per week is claimed for aid purposes.

(b) Each participating district or BOCES shall maintain appropriate records of enrollment and teacher hours, and shall file such reports as may be required by the commissioner.

(c) The provisions of this section shall be effective for programs operated during the 1984-85 school year and thereafter.
