Section 145-1.3 - Residence

(a) If legal residence in New York State is established by law as a requirement for an award, such award shall remain in effect only so long as the holder thereof continues to maintain such residence, and an award cancelled for failure to maintain such legal residence shall not be subject to reinstatement.

(b) If awards are allocated on a geographic basis, the candidate shall compete in the geographic subdivision in which the candidate resides on the date of the examination on which the awards are based, or, if no examination is administered, on the last day on which applications are accepted.

(c) If a minimum period of residence is established as an eligibility requirement, the student shall be considered eligible if such requirement is met by the last day of the month in which the award becomes effective.
