Section 145-1.12 - Osteopathy scholarships

(a) Upon budget authorization for award of additional Regents scholarships for the professional study of osteopathy, such awards shall be made under the same standards and conditions as are established under subdivision 3 of section 605 and other pertinent sections of the Education Law, except that, if such budget authorization specifically extends eligibility to students who have already begun professional study of osteopathy, then such students shall also be admitted to the competition, if otherwise qualified.
(b) Unless otherwise prescribed by law, such osteopathy scholarships shall be awarded to all candidates who obtain a score in the competitive examination that would equal or exceed the score that would be required to receive a scholarship award or reaward in medicine in the geographic area in which the candidate is eligible to compete, as determined by the commissioner.
