Section 108.2 - Material and size

The flag for use in school assembly rooms should be of silk; and of such proportion and size as to command attention and respect.

(a) For one-teacher school classroom or other small room, used for assembly purposes, the following sizes are recommended:

(1) 3 feet by 5 feet on 8-foot standard; or

(2) 2 feet, 6 inches by 4 feet on 7- or 7 1/2-foot standard.

(b) For auditorium or large assembly hall, the following sizes are suggested:

(1) 5 feet by 9 feet on 12-foot standard;

(2) 4 feet, 4 inches by 5 feet, 6 inches on 9-foot standard (see Army regulations 260-10, paragraph 4); or

(3) 4 feet by 6 feet on 9-foot standard.

(c)

(1) The flag proportions shall be as follows:

Hoist (width) of flag............1.0

Fly (length) of flag............1.9

Hoist (width) of union............7/13

Fly (length) of union............0.76

Width of each stripe............1/13

(2) For schools that wish to provide flags of such proportion as the foregoing, the following sizes are recommended:
(i) For classroom or other small room used for assembly purposes, 2.37 feet by 4.5 feet on 7- or 71/2-foot standard.

(ii) For auditorium or large assembly hall, 4 feet by 7.6 feet on 12-foot standard, or 5 feet by 9.5 feet on 14- or 15-foot standard.
