Where individuals have been separated from employment at a covered school and have not become employed in the same or another covered school within 12 months of such separation, the department shall notify DCJS of such separation for the purpose of destroying the fingerprints of such person. Upon request of such person, the department shall notify DCJS prior to the expiration of such 12- month period for the purpose of destroying his or her fingerprints and the department shall so notify DCJS. Such individuals shall be removed from the SED criminal history file.
