Section 197.9 - Contingent license

(a) Any contingent license issued pursuant to prior provisions of this Part will remain in effect until:

(1) superseded by the issuance of a license to guide pursuant to the terms of this Part;

(2) revoked pursuant to the terms of this Part;

(3) revoked for failure to pass the written examination required by this Part; or

(4) revoked for failure to provide any of the required proofs, certifications or statements enumerated in section 197.3 of this Part within 90 days of issuance of any contingent license.

(b) All guides holding contingent licenses issued pursuant to the prior provisions of this Part must successfully pass the written examination required by section 197.6 of this Part within six months of the effective date of this Part, or such additional time thereafter as is necessary to permit two administrations of such examination. Failure to successfully complete such examination within the time specified will result in automatic revocation of the contingent license.
