Section 104.3 - Trapping

(a) No person shall trap in the area unless he possesses a valid New York State trapping license and a special trapping permit obtainable from the Department of Environmental Conservation.

(b) Applications for trapping permits shall be submitted by September first to the Regional Wildlife Manager at the Department of Environmental Conservation, 21 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY 12561. All applications must include a current trapping license number.

(c) The quota of permits to be issued each year shall be determined by the department.

(d) Permits will be issued following a random drawing to the extent of the quota fixed. All applicants will be notified in writing whether they are successful or not.

(e) Permittees may trap only those species specified in their permits.

(f) No person shall trap in areas or at times other than those specified in his permit.

(g) Within 10 days after the close of the trapping period designated on their permits, permittees shall (on forms provided by the department) furnish the department with complete reports of their trapping activities.
