Section 75.3 - Premiums

(a) Premiums for coverage of employees whose salaries are paid on a biweekly basis shall be payable to the fund established pursuant to section 75.8 of this Part on a corresponding biweekly basis. Premiums for coverage of all other employees and for coverage of all retirees shall be payable to such fund on a monthly basis. All such premiums shall be subject to change from time to time in accordance with the provisions of the contract or otherwise upon amendment of the contract.
(b) Deduction of premiums.
(1) The premiums
required to be paid by an employee on account of coverage for himself and his
dependents shall be deducted from his salary or wages by the chief fiscal
officer of the employer. In the case of a retiree his required premiums shall
be deducted from his retirement allowance by the fiscal officer responsible for
the payment of such allowance, but in the event that his retirement allowance
is suspended by virtue of his further government employment as an officer or
employee of the employer from whose service he retired his required premiums
shall be deducted from his salary or wages. During any period when an employer
or retiree is not receiving a salary, wages or a retirement allowance and his
coverage is continued pursuant to this Part, he shall make the payments
required of him on account of such coverage directly to the fund.
(2) The sums for premiums to be deducted from
salaries, wages or retirement allowances or otherwise paid by direct payment
shall be as determined by the president, and shall be in sufficient amounts for
the full premiums of employees and retirees due and payable to the
insurer.
