Section 1242.12 - Berth assignment permits; time for filing and information

(a) All persons desiring a berth for any watercraft at a marine terminal shall, at least three days prior to the arrival of such watercraft, apply to The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Marine Operations Division, 111 Eighth Avenue, New York, New York 10011, between the hours of 8:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., except on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, for a berth assignment and shall furnish the following information:

(1) Name and address of applicant;

(2) Name of watercraft's owner or operator if applicant is a general agent or local agent;

(3) Name of watercraft;

(4) Length of watercraft overall;

(5) Beam of watercraft;

(6) Draft of watercraft;

(7) Gross registered tonnage of watercraft;

(8) Date of arrival of watercraft;

(9) Probable date of departure of watercraft;

(10) Amount of cargo (in tons) to be loaded or discharged;

(11) Type of cargo.

(b) The request, if made orally, shall promptly be confirmed in writing.
