Section 9500.1 - Statutory authority and purpose

The Natural Heritage Trust is a public benefit corporation established by chapter 653 of the Laws of 1968. Its purposes and powers can be found in article 55 of the Arts and Cultural Affairs Law. Section 2880 of the Public Authorities Law, which was enacted by chapter 183 of the Laws of 1987, requires public benefit corporations to promulgate rules and regulations detailing their policies with regard to making prompt payment to contractors.
