Section 5904.6 - Review of applications for designation as a Center for Advanced Technology

(a) In reviewing any application for designation as a Center for Advanced Technology, the board shall consider whether the applicant has satisfactorily demonstrated:
(b) In reviewing any institutionally approved plan and program for the establishment and operation of a Center for Advanced Technology submitted pursuant to paragraph (a)(6) of this section, the board shall consider, among other things, the following:
(c) In conducting its review of applications for designation as a Center for Advanced Technology, the board may use a committee of its members designated by the chairman of the board to make recommendations to the board on such applications and shall seek and consider the advice of peer review panels (as defined in section 5904.2[g] of this Part).
(d) No application for designation as a Center for Advanced Technology shall be deemed approved until it is approved by the board.
(e) In the discretion of the board, and notwithstanding any other provisions of this Part, any application for designation as a Center for Advanced Technology may, in the event the board determines that it should not be approved, be deemed to be an application for a grant award as provided in sections 5904.9 and 5904.10 of this Part.
