Part 679 - Specifications For Local Social Services Commissioner And Deputy Social Services Commissioner
Section 679.2 - Groups of social services districts

(a) For the purpose of prescribing minimum qualifications for appointment of local social services commissioners, differentiated on the basis of their relative responsibilities, the social services districts of the State are hereby divided into four groups as follows:

(1) Group I. Social services districts having a caseload of less than 1,000 cases;

(2) Group II. Social services districts having a caseload of 1,000 but less than 5,000 cases;

(3) Group III. Social services districts having a caseload of 5,000 but less than 50,000 cases; and

(4) Group IV. Social services districts having a caseload of 50,000 cases and over.

(b) The caseload of each social services district on June 30th of each year, as determined by the commissioner, shall determine the group in which a social services district shall be, for the purpose of determining the minimum qualifications required by this Part for candidates to fill a vacancy occurring within one year after that date.
