Section 463.1 - Scope

(a) Each local social services department shall offer and provide promptly upon request, in accordance with this Part, social, educational and medical family-planning services to persons of child-bearing age, including minors who can be considered sexually active, who are applicants for or recipients of public-assistance, recipients of medical assistance only, or recipients of supplemental security income.

(b) Family-planning services means social, educational, and medical services to enable individuals, in accordance with their wishes, to limit family size, space children or prevent or reduce the incidence of births out of wedlock. Not included under this definition are abortions performed either for therapeutic or nontherapeutic purposes.
