Section 435.5 - Length of service

(a) Respite care and services for families may be provided as needed which may include periods of less than 24 hours. Respite care and services for foster families and foster children must be provided for periods of at least 24 hours.

(b) Respite care and services for foster families may be provided for up to a maximum of 30 consecutive days at a time, per child.

(c) Respite care and services for families may be provided for up to a maximum of seven weeks per child, per year, except that where a parent is participating in a substance use disorder treatment program or there are extraordinary circumstances that warrant an additional respite stay as approved by the social services district.
