Section 431.4 - Retention of earnings of children in foster care

A child or minor in foster care as a public charge is permitted to retain the maximum amount of his or her earned monthly income as savings for future identifiable needs in accordance with the standards relating to eligibility for title IV-E foster care set forth in section 426.1 of this Title. A social services district must make efforts to preserve the child's eligibility for federally reimbursable foster care maintenance payments and to provide the child with a means to accumulate resources to assist in meeting his or her permanency planning goal.
