Section 9000.2 - Duration of designations

(a) Permanent designation. The Commissioner of Transportation may list by county in this section, by order filed with the Secretary of State, highways which shall be permanently designated for preferential use lanes for specified types or classes of vehicles.

(b) Temporary designations. The Commissioner of Transportation may list by county in this section, by order filed with the Secretary of State, highways which shall be temporarily designated for preferential use lanes for specified types or classes of vehicles. Such order shall specify the duration of such designation which may be any period less than permanent and may be measured by date or by the occurrence of specified events such as the completion of projects or contracts or segments thereof or until further notice by order adopted in like manner by the Commissioner of Transportation.
