Section 973.1 - Notification of intent to discontinue railroad service

Every railroad company or corporation applying to the Interstate Commerce Commission or any other Federal or State agency to discontinue railroad service shall, within 30 days of the date of such application, notify the Department of Transportation by mailing a copy of the application, by certified mail--return receipt requested, to the Assistant Commissioner for Regulatory Affairs, New York State Department of Transportation, Building 5, State Office Campus, Albany, New York 12232.
