07A Section 1685 of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law allows the installation of a STOP (R1-1) sign at a highway-rail crossing only with prior authorization from the New York State Department of Transportation.

12A Certain commercial motor vehicles, buses, and school buses are required to stop at all grade crossings in accordance with Section 1171 of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
