Section 104.4 - Use of temporary registration

A temporary registration may be issued by a validly registered boat dealer when a boat is sold or transferred. The registration number to be affixed to the boat in conjunction with the temporary registration shall be the registration number assigned to the boat by the dealer or, if the boat was previously registered in this State, the previous registration number shall be retained and displayed. No validating sticker will be issued with the temporary registration. The temporary registration certificate completed by the dealer must be on board the boat. The temporary registration certificate shall be valid for 45 days after the date of its issuance by the dealer.
