Title 15 - Department of Motor Vehicles
Chapter I - REGULATIONS OF THE COMMISSIONER
Subchapter D - Equipment
Part 53 - Brake Linings
Section 53.11 - Provisions relating to certain after-market brake linings

Current through Register Vol. 46, No. 12, March 20, 2024

(a) Aftermarket brake linings manufactured or distributed prior to July 1, 1966, may meet the identification requirements of this Part by having the necessary information specified in section 53.6 of this Part affixed on the face of the brake lining, or while such brake linings are in the original box or container, on such box or container.

(b) The lack of identification as required in section 53.6 or subdivision (a) of this section on any after-market brake lining manufactured or distributed prior to July 1, 1966, shall be presumptive evidence that such brake lining has not been approved. Such presumption may be overcome by certification from the manufacturer of the lining that such lining was produced from a formulation which is approved, indicating the formulation number from which such lining was produced and the date such formulation was approved.
