Section 51.2 - Standards for new passenger car tires

(a) No tire shall be manufactured in New York State for use on 1948 or later model passenger cars unless such tire conforms to Federal motor vehicle safety standard number 109.

(b) No tire shall be distributed, offered for sale or sold in this State for use on 1948 or later model passenger cars unless such tire when manufactured conformed to Federal motor vehicle safety standard number 109.

(c) No person shall sell any new passenger car tire mounted on a rim unless such rim is selected in accordance with Federal motor vehicle safety standard number 110.
