Section 32.2 - Introduction

The commissioner requires that insurance identification cards including for hire insurance certificates, hereinafter referred to as ID cards, be issued as paper proof of motor vehicle liability insurance. ID cards shall be issued in conformance with this Part and shall be carried in a vehicle at all times. ID cards shall be presented to the department in accordance with this Part, Parts 34 and 35 of this Title and the registration, licensing, insurance, and other administrative procedures of the department. Information provided by ID cards shall be verified electronically by insurance companies as required by this Part and the reporting requirements set forth in Part 34 of this Title.
