Section 1000.2 - Procedure for listing of substances certified to director

(a) The division shall give notice to the Speaker of the Assembly and the Temporary President of the Senate of the proposed listing in section 1000.3 [FN*] of this Part of a substance certified to the director by the Commissioner of Health as having the capability of causing physical and/or psychological dependence. The director shall consider the advice and recommendation of the Legislature and shall hold a public hearing prior to taking final action in so listing such substance.

(b) The listing of a substance in section 1000.3 [FN*] of this Part shall, unless renewed, expire one year from the effective date of such listing.
