Title 14 - DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HYGIENE
Chapter XXI - OFFICE OF ALCOHOLISM AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES
Part 807 - Responsibilities Regarding HIV/AIDS
Section 807.3 - Intent
Universal Citation: 14 NY Comp Codes Rules and Regs ยง 807.3
Current through Register Vol. 46, No. 39, September 25, 2024
The intent is to clarify obligations of providers certified or otherwise authorized pursuant to this Chapter regarding HIV-related services and confidentiality. This Part is aligned with New York's plan to end the AIDS epidemic by ensuring that everyone knows their HIV status and has access to medications used to prevent or treat HIV. Effective treatment with antiretroviral medication results in an undetectable viral load, making it nearly impossible to transmit HIV to another person.
