Section 680.10 - Individual rights and protection

(a) No individual who resides in a specialty hospital shall be deprived of any civil or legal right guaranteed to all citizens solely because of a diagnosis of developmental disability. All individuals shall be given the respect and dignity that is extended to every person regardless of race, religion, national origin, creed, sex, ethnic background or disability.

(b) The specialty hospital shall protect the rights of each individual as prescribed by the commissioner and regulations of OPWDD.
