Part 540 - Patients Committed To The Custody Of The Commissioner Pursuant To Cpl Article 730
Section 540.3 - Hospital forensic committee

(a) Each office facility shall establish a hospital forensic committee consisting of three persons appointed by the clinical director.

(b) Each member of the committee shall be a clinician licensed in New York State to practice medicine, psychology or social work.

(c) At least one member of the committee shall be a board-certified psychiatrist.

(d) The committee shall review applications for authorization of the granting of escorted or unescorted furlough to patients, transfer of patients, conversion of patients to civil status, and discharge or conditional release of patients, or return of patients to the custody of the criminal court, in accordance with the procedures described in section 540.9(h) of this Part.
