Part 517 - Transfer Or Referral Of Patients For Admission To Psychiatric Hospitals
Section 517.9 - Transportation of patient

(a) Unless otherwise agreed to by both hospitals, transportation of the patient between the sending and receiving hospitals shall be provided by the sending hospital or by the patient's significant others. Before permitting significant others to transport the patient, the sending hospital shall consult with the patient and shall determine that there are no contraindications to granting such permission.

(b) A female patient transported pursuant to subdivision (a) of this section must be accompanied by another female or the patient's father, brother, husband or son.
