Section 15.3 - Information to be given patients

(a) Each person admitted to a facility shall be informed by an appropriate staff member, at the time of admission, of the character and class of the facility.

(b) Each patient shall be given notice of his or her status and rights at the time of admission to the facility in accordance with the procedures in the above-mentioned manuals. Patients unable to read written notice of status and rights shall have same read and explained to them by an appropriate staff member in an appropriate language.

(c) Patients shall be reinformed of their status and rights as required by law in accordance with procedures in the manuals hereinbefore mentioned. Facility staff members shall provide such information about a patient's status and rights at other times upon request.
