Section 700.4 - Unemployment insurance and employment service records

Section 537 of the Labor Law prohibits disclosure of information acquired from employers and employees in the course of administration of the Unemployment Insurance Law. Such information is for the exclusive use and information of the Commissioner of Labor in the discharge of his duties under the Unemployment Insurance Law, and is not open to public access. Unemployment insurance and employment service records, therefore, are not subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Law.
