Section 431.1 - Statement of purpose

The purpose of subdivisions (6) through (10) of section 134 of the Workers' Compensation Law is to create a Safety Incentive Program under which qualified employers who implement a safety incentive plan as recommended by a certified safety and loss management specialist will be eligible for a credit against their workers' compensation insurance premiums or, where applicable, a reduction in their self-insurance security deposit. The purpose of subdivision (9) of section 134 of the Workers' Compensation Law and this Part is to implement an audit and review process under which the board can monitor all such safety incentive plans implemented by employers.
