All rules and procedures of the chair, relating to medical and surgical care and treatment, the arbitration of medical bills, the arbitration of hospital bills, the practice of podiatry, the practice of chiropractic, and the practice of psychology under the Workers' Compensation Law, are hereby made applicable to the treatment and care of injured firefighters under the Volunteer Firefighters' Benefit Law, to the extent that such rules and procedures are not inconsistent with the Volunteer Firefighters' Benefit Law.
