Part 187 - Approval Of Safety Programs For Minors 16 And 17 Years Of Age
Section 187.6 - Standards for approval of safety program

(a) The safety program shall provide comprehensive instruction in the occupation and work process for which the minor is being trained and on the safe use of machinery, equipment and devices and should include instruction on the following:

(1) Good work habits and safe practices.

(2) Accidents and accident prevention.

(3) Personal protective devices.

(4) Fire protection and prevention.

(5) Hand and portable tool safety.

(b) All machinery, equipment and devices in the shop where the safety instruction is given shall be so placed, operated, guarded and lighted as required by the provisions of the Labor Law and the safety and health standards promulgated by the commissioner or the State Board of Standards and Appeals.
