Part 187 - Approval Of Safety Programs For Minors 16 And 17 Years Of Age
Section 187.2 - Definitions

As used in this Part:

(a) Commissioner means the Industrial Commissioner of the State of New York.

(b) Work training program means training program for minors 16 and 17 years of age conducted by a non-profit organization or which is publicly funded in whole or in part and which includes safety instruction and training in the use of machinery, equipment and devices.

(c) Non-profit organization means an organization operated exclusively for religious, charitable or educational purposes, no part of the net earnings of which inures to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual, including a public school.

(d) Organization includes a non-profit organization and any entity conducting a work training program which is publicly funded in whole or in part.

(e) Minor means a person 16 or 17 years of age.
