Section 47.3 - Prohibited discrimination under section 4224(a) of the new york state insurance law

(a) Life insurers shall review the life insurance policies they issue and, in particular, the mortality tables used in connection with their policies in order to make sure that they are not violative of section 4224 (a) of the Insurance Law.

(b) If an insurer issues a group life conversion policy on a gender-blended basis, it need not place all its direct individual issues on a gender-blended basis. "Class of risk" under section 3220 (a)(6) of the Insurance Law may consist of the class of convertees.
