Section 23.1 - List of sexually transmitted diseases

The following are groups of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and shall constitute the definition of sexually transmitted diseases for the purpose of this Part and Section 2311 of the Public Health Law:

Group A

Facilities referred to in section 23.2 of this Part must provide diagnosis and treatment as provided in section 23.2(c) of this Part for the following STDs:

Chlamydia trachomatis infection

Gonorrhea

Syphilis

Non-gonococcal Urethritis (NGU)

Non-gonococcal (mucopurulent) Cervicitis

Trichomoniasis

Lymphogranuloma Venereum

Chancroid

Granuloma Inguinale

Group B

Facilities referred to in section 23.2 of this Part must provide diagnosis and treatment, including prevention services, as provided in section 23.2(d) of this Part for the following STDs:

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)

Genital Herpes Simplex

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)

Mpox

Group C

Facilities referred to in section 23.2 of this Part must provide diagnosis and treatment as provided in section 23.2(e) of this Part for the following STD:

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) Gonococcal/Non-gonococcal

Group D

Facilities referred to in section 23.2 of this Part must provide diagnosis and treatment as provided in section 23.2(f) of this Part for the following STDs:

Yeast (Candida) Vaginitis

Bacterial Vaginosis

Pediculosis Pubis

Scabies
