Local Health Officer
Section 11.1 - Definition

The term local health officer shall mean:

(a) a commissioner of health as defined in section 11.10 of this Part;

(b) a public health director as defined in section 11.181 of this Part;

(c) the health director of a county, appointed pursuant to and subject to the provisions of section 356 of the Public Health Law; or

(d) the officer of a city having a population of less than 50,000, town, village or consolidated health district who administers and manages public health programs within such jurisdiction and who has the general powers and duties specified in the Public Health Law.
