Section 220.7 - Farm milk tanks

(a) Foundation. The foundation for a farm milk tank shall be constructed with due consideration of frost penetration and shall be of sufficient strength to support the fully liquid-laden tank without change of level.

(b) Head space. The distance between the top of the milk tank and the ceiling shall not be less than 36 inches. The minimum acceptable dimensions for a recessed ceiling are five feet by five feet, and the recessed area of the ceiling shall be positioned off center in such a manner that the maximum area is available for placing the test equipment. This subdivision shall apply only to farm milk tanks installed on or after March 1, 1979.
